Elements

The working sheet is grouped to the top node of the XML file by default. If you have XSL skills or if you are more experienced with XSLfast, you can of course group the page according to your wishes.

All elements except the line are labeled in the upper right corner to make it easier to tell what kind of frame they are, when they are selected. All frames show the layer number they belong to and carry the symbol, which is on their icon in the icon bar to make them recognizable. If you move an element completely or partly into a region (see chapter Page), a red border appears around the icon in the label and a letter, which indicates the region: S (Start), E (End), B (Before) and A (After)

Elements placed inside or touching regions will be displayed on every page of the resulting document.

Place some elements on the sheet. Choose for example the option Insert: Text or click the button "Text" . Click on your sheet, keep the left mouse button pressed down and pull open a static text frame in the desired size by pulling the mouse.

Scale the frame up or down by clicking one of the four corners of the frame. Keep the left mouse button pressed and pull the frame to the size you want.

To move the frames on your sheet, click inside the frame and hold the left mouse button down. If you move the cursor now, you will see it change its shape into a double arrow pulling the frame along into a new position.

This method also works for placing and arranging image frames and table frames on your sheet.

If you have elements which are entirely covered by other elements or just overlap, the inspector window shows the function Overlapping objects:

In the select box there are all elements that are partially or entirely covered by other elements. If you select one of these, they are also selected on the sheet and can be dragged with the mouse.
