Number

The Number field element allows you to display formatted numbers. You can use it as a static frame or fill it with dynamic data from the XML source.

If you double click on a number field, an editor window with two tabs opens:

Here you enter the number, which should be displayed in the field, or you group the element to a node from the XML file that contains the correct information, like in text elements.

On the second tab you are offered possibilities to control the display of the numbers:

XSLfast has a number of predefined formats prepared for you to choose from. You can select the number of decimal digits and which decimals and thousands separators you need. The select box Number format offers some useful formats. If you require a number format with a currency symbol, you can also assign the symbol with the radio buttons Currency before or Currency after and select the correct symbol from the select box.

Use the radio button Use custom format to enter your desired custom format into the field if the selections do not offer what you want. Use e.g. the pound sign "#" and the zero "0". The pound sign is a position where a digit will always occur but be omitted if it is an insignificant zero. The zero is a position which will always occur, even if it is an insignificant zero. Like for text frames, the icon bar changes when a number frame is selected on the sheet:

It now offers you to change the font, the font size, the text style (bold, italic, underlined), the horizontal alignment (left aligned, centered, right-aligned), the text color and the background color as well as borders or paddings.
